Pakistan Day is commemorated across the country on 23rd March every year. This day is of massive importance to every Pakistani citizen. On this day in 1940, the Lahore Resolution was passed by the All India Muslim League that represented the Muslims of British India. This resolution took place at Minto Park, with the purpose of highlight being a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. The Lahore Resolution was later named the Pakistan Resolution. Another significant event took place on this day in 1956 when Pakistan adopted its first constitution and hence experienced a transition from the Dominion of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
